Role Description:

The Director of Training handles the development of creative and engaging custom eLearning content to serve employees, partners and customers in interactive, self-paced, and video formats. Candidates must have the ability to produce high-quality eLearning solutions in a fast-paced collaborative team environment. Should have knowledge of instructional design, adult learning theory, best practices for eLearning, and a desire for continuous improvement in the training process. 
You must possess a strong bias for action and an unwavering commitment to making our caregivers and clients successful, and be able to lead and collaborate with partners, product documentation, and content delivery teams.

Responsibilities Include But Not Limited To:

  • Work directly with other instructional designers, instructors, and subject matter experts to gather the learning needs, content, schedule, and scalability requirements for development projects
  • Effective use digital media, eLearning development tools, and other emerging technologies to create and deliver computer-based video training
  • Design and develop engaging and memorable learning opportunities (including related learning elements) then publish final eLearning modules in a learning management system
  • Draft storyboards, scripts, and prototypes of training content and proactively shepherd drafts through proper reviews, updates, and approvals. When necessary, create customized versions of related content for different target audiences
  • Convert existing documentation and training materials into engaging and effective online courses and take part in continuous content process with Product Content and Training groups
  • Develop a continuous improvement process for training content including an evaluation method and updates to content as needed
  • Expertise with the following content authoring tools: Adobe Creative Cloud and Captivate, Articulate Studio, and Camtasia
  • Assist clients with mobility, including lifting and transferring
  • Experience with professional video and print production software a plus. Create new online eLearning & learning assets including courses, standalone interactions, audio and video programs, facilitator guides, and learner guides
  • Work with business partners and subject matter experts to identify and confirm learning objectives


  • Bachelor's Degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or a related learning field. 4+ years of multimedia learning development and instructional design experience in a corporate training environment
  • Outstanding writing, editing, critical reasoning, interpersonal, and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate complex concepts concisely and clearly and to convert technical or complex information and concepts into easily-understandable text and illustrations
  • Demonstrated ability to assess learning needs and develop media-rich, engaging, and high-impact learning solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to apply instructional design theory, models, and technical training best practices
  • Experience making e-learning exciting, fun, and social
  • Experience using industry standard learning technologies and tools, such as Learning Management System (LMS) and Content Management System (CMS) platforms, project management tools, eLearning authoring tools, digital graphics media, and audio and video production tools to create impactful courses
  • Visual design – knowledge and experience in how to craft the visual experience that works best with course content
  • A conceptual thinker who proactively solves problems and makes common sense decisions
  • Healthcare background a plus
  • Must demonstrate good judgment, flexibility, initiative, and have a proven ability to problem solve
